I’ve been a bad blogger and haven’t posted anything for a whole week. I promise I’ll be better in the future, I hope you’ll forgive me.
With a theme like ‘Sand’ the most obvious choice is the beach, and I’ve been to a lot of beaches in my life, but I hope that this one is a little bit different. Crosby Beach, about eleven kilometres from Liverpool, has become the permanent home for Antony Gormley’s Another Place installation. One hundred life-sized cast iron figures, based of Gormley’s own body, are laid out along the beach for over three kilometres and stretch a mile into the sea. It really is something to see, unlike any sculpture installation I’ve ever seen before. It really does feel other worldly. Though there isn’t much else going on in Crosby, it’s still worth a trip out to experience.
