It’s 12pm and I’m still in my pyjamas while I watch the women’s marathon on TV – yes I’m lazy. Though I admire their determination I’m not sure I fancy running until I puke. No wait, let me re-phrase that, I don’t fancy running until I puke. So, I will continue to sit on the couch, and eat ice-cream and criticize those who don’t look as though their trying hard enough. That’s what the Olympics are all about right? I kid. Please don’t send me hate mail.
Most of my time over the past week has been spent watching too much sport on TV, including sports I would never otherwise consider watching – judo and archery, anyone? I have however, read some great articles that are worth sharing. Enjoy this week’s links!
Can hype kill famous landmarks… like Angkor Wat?
This issue is something that I have struggled with before – being completely disappointed by a great site because it had to chance of living up to the hype. I try to not play places up too much when I’m talking to others about them because one of the best parts of travel is discovering new things for yourself. I generally try to not do too much research before visiting a new place so that I don’t raise my own expectations so high that they can never be met. Have you ever been completely let down by a place that you expected to love?
The faces of Ireland, a photo essay
I love a good photo essay and Marie-Eve doesn’t disappointed with this eclectic collection of photos from around Ireland. The faces might not be quite what you’re expecting so check it out!
A Food Lover’s Tour of Rome
Food, glorious food! Italy and France are two are home to some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life and this food tour of Rome by Erin and Simon had me drooling on my couch. I have only been to Italy once but in Florence I had the best meal of my life. I can’t wait to go back someday and see if it lives up to my memory – I so hope it does!

Thanks for the inclusion, Crafty Travelers! I appreciate it.
