In 15 days from now it will be Christmas, whether you like it or not. I love Christmas and all the tinsel and trimmings that come with it, there isn’t really any other option in my family to be quite honest. We’re all a bit Christmas nutty.
One of my favourite parts of Christmas is thinking up great crafty projects, either for myself or for gifts, and getting my craft well and truly on! For the month of December you will often find me surrounded by felt and embroidery floss detritus grinning like an idiot.
There’s nothing like dreaming up the perfect project for someone and seeing their face when they open up your masterpiece!
So, with this in mind, here is the first of a number of travel crafts that I will be presenting to you over the month that would make perfect Christmas gifts for the travel lover on your list.
Woven Map Notebook Cover
Make the traveller on your list a completely personalized travel journal that you have lovingly covered in hand cut and woven map pieces.

Woven map covered notebook via. Ruby Murrays Musings
All you’ll need for this great map craft project from Ruby Murrays Musings is an old map, a blank notebook, regular tape, double-sided tape, and some books to weigh the whole thing down with. Other than that you’ll just need some time and dexterity.
Add a ‘My Travels’ label to the front and you have a personalized holiday gift for someone that you put time and effort into but didn’t have to spend a lot of money on – which together make the perfect gift in my estimation.
Thank you so much for including my woven map journal great suggestion for labelling the front. I think they make great gifts for guys too. X
