I know, I know, surely it can’t be possible. England is cold and rainy all the time. I’ve certainly complained about that fact my fair share (see here, and here for evidence). However, the unthinkable has happened and we have actually had amazing weather here in the UK over the past few weeks. I have spent all of my spare time soaking up every bit of heat and sunshine possible, reading on the grass, enjoying lunch in the park, and just generally trying to make the most of it. You have to make hay while the sun shines, as they say.
It worked out particularly well that the first week of summer weather coincided with the arrival of my mother. I think it was the universe trying to make up for the last time she was here, when the weather was unseasonably cold and we spent the entire holiday bundled up and shivering in the cold. This time we spent our time basking in the sun in London, taking boat trips down the Dee River, and eating ice cream. All in all a much better way to spend a holiday.
But I digress…..
Here is my view of the lovely English summer via. Instagram. I hope you’re enjoying summer as much as I am!
