Bag a Mag with A Crafty Traveler’s First Giveaway!

I have to admit, I have a bit of a magazine problem. I blame my mother quite frankly, she has passed the addiction onto both my sister and I. I have spent this past year trying to wean myself off of the monthly habit, partially because of the cost, but mostly because of my inability to throw anything away. Years after the original publication made its way into my house it can still be found lurking under a side table or taking up precious space on my one and only bookshelf. When you live an unsettled life like I do, the last thing you want to do is accumulate ‘stuff’ that will eventually need to be either packed up and moved or disposed of unceremoniously.

Transient lifestyles and magazines just don’t mix, or so it would appear.

Enter Zinio, a digital magazine and book purveyor. With Zinio you can still read all of your favourite magazines, from Lonely Planet and National Geographic, to GQ and Newsweek, but not have to deal with any of the clutter. The magazine is delivered right to the digital device of your choice – desktop, smart phone, e-reader, or tablet. Genius!

ZinioDon’t fancy signing up for a full year subscription to a magazine you aren’t sure you’ll like? Try out the new Z-pass and for only $5 a month you can get any three magazines of your choice and switch them up every month. All the fun with none of the commitment, sounds pretty good to me!

Want to give it a try for yourself? Well, the fine people at Zinio are offering nine lucky readers the chance to try out the service for themselves with one free subscription of their choice. Not too shabby a prize, if I do say so myself! With over 5,500 titles to choose from there is sure to be something to pique the interest of every digital nomad on the go.

What do you need to do to enter this fabulous competition? Well, it’s easy really!

1.       Follow me on Facebook, Twitter and/or Pinterest (if you don’t already)

2.       Leave a comment below letting me know which magazine you would subscribe to if you won (make sure I have access to your email address).

I told you it was easy.

The contest will close on August 24th at which time the winner will be chosen at random and contacted via email for their final magazine choice. You will have 24 hours to respond with the details and if you do not respond within that time I will have to pass the prize onto another winner. Sorry about that.

So what are you waiting for? Get entering because as much as I like magazines I think nine subscriptions might just be excessive.

*This competition is now closed*

Note: I was compensated for this giveaway to the tune of one subscription of my very own!

  1. It just HAS to be Lonely Planet-great photos, great stories and travel inspiration…what’s not to love?! Loving the blog by the way, keep up the good work!

  2. It is a very difficult choice but I would have to say Making magazine…even though I don’t ‘make’ anything from the mag I just seem to enjoy the thought that I might.

    • That’s a very mature choice, I’d be going for something much more frivolous! Thanks for the entry and good luck!

    • Well found! There’s lots of great craft magazines to choose from, isn’t there. Thanks for the entry and good luck!

  3. I don’t feel I have enough golf in my live with my membership and subscription to Sky Sports, so I’d like Golf Monthly if I win, please! Keep up the good work 🙂

  4. I would say Arthritis Today. Obviously not a common one, but having read issues (sent to me by my aunt in the U.S) I’ve found tons of information about everything from diet ie. “inflammatory foods vs.foods that can prevent/help inflamation”, new medications/treatments on the horizon, even jokes/funny stories from people living with chronic illness, because sometimes you just have to laugh!
That or maybe “Lou Lou” a Canadian fashion magazine!!
    Love reading your blog because it kind of feels like we’re “catching up” {in the broadest sense of the word 😉 }
    Take care!
