There are many things that are confusing to me here in France, like why women’s washrooms never have paper and how French people can eat so much wine, cheese and bread and not all be morbidly obese. Although it might not be of any great significance, I have found it baffling why the stop signs in France all seem to say “STOP” rather than “ARRÊT”. Perhaps that’s why they seem so often to be ignored?
